Recently I left my job my full-time job leaving me unemployed. I had my reasons for taking this drastic step. Anyways on an everyday basis I don’t have much going on and my partner works full-time so he’s not here most of the time. Aside from blogging most days I do still find myself with not much to do and trying to stay positive can be quite challenging.

This has made me come up with a few ways of keeping positive through these times.

1. Exercising / Meditating

I am trying to exercise as much as possible, this includes yoga, running or walking. I’m not much of a gym enthusiast but enjoy the occasional session. I also recommend meditating, really forget everything else and just take deep breaths, this is very challenging and does make time to get hang off.

2. Being Occupied 

Try and take up a hobby, I enjoy cooking and have taken well to this in my spare time also my blog keeps me occupied, between editing content and photographs it can be very time consuming. I also enjoy watching tv, who doesn’t? Friends is my all time favourite programme to watch and makes me forget all my problems.

3. Talking, writing about it. 

Sometimes, just talking about it helps! I have a very understanding partner who is a very good listener and often I will rant to him. Keeping a journal also helps, just write down your problems this is a great form of therapy. You can also invest in seeking professional help but that’s just not for me.

4. Indulging in retail therapy

This is obviously the best therapy out there! My Moto in life as always been “life is too short, buy what you like” and I very much stick by this, I love indulging in retail therapy every now and then and spending money does tend to help and also you end up with pretty clothes and shoes. I am very shopaholic but being unemployed I try and watch the expenditure. Window shopping also helps.

5. Last but not least, is being pampered. 

I try and pamper myself atleast once a week. This means going all out bubble baths, painting nails, exfoliating, feet soaks, waxing the works! I always keep bath bombs from lush stocked in my bathroom, never know when you need them.
